GLSL Tutorial now includes a Texturing section with a glow in the dark effect

The GLSL tutorial has been updated to include texturing shaders. It covers the basics from simple texturing, multitexturing, and concludes with a glow in the dark effect where texturing is performed conditionally based on lighting.

This is the third book of the shader X series (A sort of Game Programming Gems for shaders), but the first one to provide material in GLSL. However the three shading languages (GLSL, HLSL, and Cg) are so close to each other that is easy to follow code written in any of them as long as you are familiar with one of them.

Excelent book if you are looking for more realistic materials. Kelly and Emmanuel provide a clear explanation of all the material in the book in, as much as possible, an accessible language. This book is a must if you want to learn about lighting (and materials of course).

3DLabs ShaderGen - Fixed Functionality Shader Generation Tool

Great tool for learning. You may define a setting for lights, textures, materials, fog, and the tool will generate the GLSL code that matches the fixed functionality.
